Did you realize we are nearly one third of the way into the year? How are you coming along in your time management, self-care, prioritization of goals, making decisions that are in alignment with your values? Well, here’s a little something that happened to me this week. So, I had a GREAT catch up with an old friend and colleague earlier in the week. Here's a favorite highlight from our conversation! "No one wants to be around someone who's perfect." So true, right! So why are so many of us trying so hard for things to be perfect? In fact, let's be honest and recognize that there's no such thing as perfection. Actually, it's in our imperfections and our quirks that we find common ground, where we build meaningful relationships, where we relate to one another. It's the vulnerability of our imperfections that make us human.
So, if you ever find yourself feeling disappointed, unhappy, preoccupied, nervous, insecure, high strung (the list could go on ... is any of this touching a cord?) then look outside yourself for a moment. Get out of your immediate bubble that's reinforcing your perceived reality that "this needs to be perfect for me/us to be _____ (fill in the blank)." Shake things up and find out what's really going on for you. I thank you in advance for taking the time to stay connected with me and I continue to be grateful for your support and endorsement! Until next time … Live a better, balanced and more focused you! Be your best self, Sandra |
