I've been consulting with The Hispanic Federation in designing/creating their mentorship program at various community college campuses. Summer is in full swing and I've been enjoying my self-commitment to read more for leisure and pleasure. In doing so, I've been picking up some great insightful articles. As we navigate the adult world of multiple demands and responsibilities, we kid ourselves into thinking we can successfully multi-task the barrage of information overload that comes our way.
In fact, different research continues to provide evidence that our brain is not able to swiftly transfer its attention from one task to another without losing significant time in our attention-focus capacities. “One of the hallmark’s of being a high conscious parent is the attitude and mindset of OPPORTUNITY and POSSIBILITIES, along with the internal drive to frequently self-assess and improve. With that, an anabolic parent is able to see and identify the opportunity to press the “reset” button to assess and address any intention we’re not fully committing to and living out in our efforts to parent more mindfully and consciously. The word reset means to "set again or differently" and often times all it takes is just a little tweak in the small stuff to get us back on course.
So, there’s no need to wait for your typical “reset” moments like New Year’s, a birthday or anniversary to check-in on your parenting goals. Use your high conscious level 5 anabolic attitude and mindset to steer yourself back on course. |
